T&N Rental Project
Houlihan's Corporate Offices
Leawood, Kansas

This project involved renovation of an existing 11,600 s.f. office space on the first floor of a 3
level building to accomodate Houlihan's new corporate headquarters. The space was
composed of a reception area, conference rooms, office spaces, test kitchen, and food tasting
space.

Design considerations:
Other Office Building Projects:
The existing dual duct mechanical system was modified to accomodate the new layout. As the
existing drawings provided to us were not complete, surveying of actual on-site conditions
were required to identify potential conflicts in duct routing.
A test kitchen was incorporated into the design to develop new products to be served in
Houlihan's restaurants. This test kitchen design included relocating an existing exhaust only
kitchen hood from the Owner's previous facility for use in the new design and adding make-up
air provisions to it. We worked with the City to conceal the hood's exhaust fans and make-up
air unit from view in accordance with City requirements as it was located at grade level on the
back side of the building. Mounting this equipment on the roof was explored, but not pursued
due to use of the spaces above by other tenants.
Because the existing dual duct system could not handle the cooling requirements of the test
kitchen, supplemental cooling in the form of split systems were added.
The Owner kept much of their existing kitchen equipment and surveying of this equipment's
mechanical, electrical, and plumbing requirements in the field was required as we did not
have manufacturer's data readily available.
A "table wall" was incorporatd into the main reception area design and involved concealed
fiber optic backlighting of round simulated dining tables mounted vertically on a wall.
Specialty lighting including pendant mounted fixtures in accent areas were utilized.
